Mentoring the Future: The 7th Eqcoquest Sustainability Challenge
I recently had the privilege of participating in the 7th edition of the Eqcoquest competition, organized by Loyac and LAPA, as a mentor and judge. Representing SAK Co. I supported students as they developed school projects focused on sustainability and climate action. It was an energizing experience to work with such driven and creative young minds who are eager to make a positive impact on our environment.
The range of projects presented was both innovative and meaningful—some focused on using algae to absorb CO₂, while others tackled e-waste by transforming it into educational tools like escape rooms. Each idea showed a real commitment to solving local and global environmental challenges in practical and engaging ways. The students' ability to think critically and creatively gave me a renewed sense of hope.
At SAK Co. we believe that true sustainability is rooted in education, community, and forward-thinking action. Witnessing these young changemakers take the lead reminded me that Kuwait’s path to a greener, more sustainable future is not only possible—it’s already underway. Initiatives like Eqcoquest are proof that empowering the next generation is one of the most powerful tools we have for climate action.
